This is a love story of a football team, whom against all odds proved that Love still exists.In the beginning, they were criticized and mocked, but they had one Vision, to bring back the trophy to their beloved country, Nigeria.It was difficult for them to believe in this Vision, because there was no external motivation, but they continued to practice. They believed in themselves and they worked hard, day and night.
The first hurdle was the qualifiers match of the African Cup Of Nations, and they actually qualified.People were a little bit suprised, but still did not expect much from them.
The African Cup Of Nations Started and they did averagely well at the beginning, but there was still no encouragement and support from their people.They moved to the quarter finals, where they met a team with top football players in the world.The world thought that this was the end for the super eagles, but they proved us wrong again, they scored two goals. The story changed from this point.
People started supporting the team, blood was now supposed to be green as a sign of Loyalty to the team.They did extremely well at the semi-finals, they scored four goals.At the finals, people expressed their love in diverse ways, prayers, delegates and messages were sent to them.
Finally, on the tenth of February 2013, they showed the whole world their Love towards Nigeria by winning the trophy, despite the trials and criticisms.Nigerians were proud to be raise the trophy after nineteen years.The Super Eagles did not give up on Nigeria even when we gave up on them.Two of our team members won awards such as "The Most Valuable Player" and "The Highest Goal Scorer".The beautiful thing is that, they worked hard as a team and they were thankful to God.This is true Love.
