What Are Your Motives?

The year is almost running to an end, but you might not have been able to fulfill your plans, don’t worry; you can still make it happen.

I want to bring your attention to the word ‘’ MOTIVE’’. It is defined by Merriam-webster dictionary as:

-        -   Something (as a need or desire) that causes a person to act

It is very important for you to know the reason for taking a decision. Your driving force can be positive or negative depending on you, people and the environment. The result of your motive can either be harmless or harmful.

I remember when I was younger, I had the intention of been rich because I wanted to oppress people, which was stupid of me. This showed that I had a low self-esteem and I almost made irreparable mistakes.

Today I know better, I am going to be wealthy, because I want to help alleviate poverty and suffering especially in Africa. I am not comparing myself to anyone, instead I am training myself to be a great leader and influence in this generation.

With the high rate of unemployment and poverty in Africa, some people can destroy or kill just to be rich. Some people even have the mentality of getting into politics with a corrupt mindset. Sometimes, you can hear someone say; I too will eat out of the national cake. This is wrong and will lead to destruction.

Let the right principles guide you. You will definitely make it and live a peaceful life.

You need to ask yourself important and sincere questions to determine your motive(s):

What is your vision?

Why do you want your vision to be fulfilled?

What is fueling your vision and drive?

What can you do to achieve your goals?

Who are you trying to impress or oppress?

Are you content with what you have?

 Gracias
