How is your Monday going? I trust you have had a great day so far.
With less than 140 days to the end of 2013, it is important to ensure we are spending most of our time on 'what matters most'.
Today, I'd like to share a thought on something I heard a while back that helped me a lot.
There is a difference between your preoccupation and your occupation. Many people are preoccupied with activities that wear them out, burn them out, keep them out of their homes but does not necessarily bring them out of their career frustrations.
Preoccupation is 'occupation' without commensurate productivity. Many people are stuck in jobs, businesses and activities that are taking them nowhere. Some are even in relationships that are going nowhere. To others, they are 'occupied' but there is no result at the end of the day.
Occupation on the other hand is spending your substance, essence & presence on that which brings joy to you and others and makes others reward you too.
As you go into this week, it would be great if you would take out sometime to identify those areas in which you are preoccupied and those in which you should be occupied. Use the pareto principle (80-20) to focus more of your energy, time & resources on your occupation. Work on your dreams, read a book, write an article, visit your mentor and solve that departmental challenge. Make a positive difference!
This week will be productive for you. You will make good progress and achieve outstanding results.
Could you help broadcast this? Thank you.
Do have a wonderful week.
